On the bus home I met two fellow passengers. Two young men who I recognized to be from the same hometown I come from as they spoke my mother tongue. We haven't met before but we instantly became good friends. They were funny people, always cracking jokes and taking things lightly.

I asked them if they know how to recognize the local magic mushroom. They said yes, they know. So I asked them if they could accompany me to the mountain to pick some "sample."

how i love the wild.

We decided to go near where the hot spring is. As I haven't been there myself I was glad somebody could show me the way.

There was a family already having picnic at the hot spring, so we went to another place.

We went back to the hot spring later after the family left. We met some more friends there.

the search for mushrooms

unfortunately, we didn't find magic mushrooms. we were late so we didn't have enough time. it was already getting dark and it started to drizzle. we spent too much time soaking in the hot spring.
i also learned later from my aunt that the special mushrooms come out in June, although some people say, it's available all year round.

on our way home, we passed by some men carrying slabs of wood, they were resting in that waiting shed you can see at the back.
as it is the custom, my companions took over in carrying the slabs to bring it to the house of the owner. it was about 2 kilometers to the nearest village where the wood were to be delivered.
I thought that was such a nice custom to maintain.

I went home after about 2 and a half years.
My hometown is called "house of rain," because it is always raining. But this
time it's summer so it was sunny and it's the best time to go around.
