The Mae Nam Khong, or "mother-river-khong" in the original Thai language, now generally known as Mekong river. According to Wiki, Mekong river is the 11th longest in the world and 7th longest in Asia.


The river originates from the glaciers of Tibet, passing through Yunnan, China and zigzags down through the countries of mainland Southeast Asia, blessing them with fertile soil and fishes and cursing them with floods. It flows further down south forming the so-called Mekong Delta in Vietnam and finally emptying in the South China sea.

This is Vientiane, the capital city of Laos. It's a very new city, dry, and unbelievably flat. Nothing really spectacular here, so I just spent a few hours and left.
