stone-glass installation, marking the entrance to Glassville
I visited a glass museum sometime on July 2006. It's a display of thousands of glass-work and glass-bead collections. The Museum is located somewhere in a Japanese countryside.
Here are some samples of beautiful glass works.

i think these are over-sized for a functioning wineglass. i think they are mainly for display.
flower vases

rabbits!

fruit and flower containers

assorted plates

middle-eastern inspired design of a chalice

lovely cups
beautiful jars

assorted wineglasses

floral water pitcher

glass snakes

a flower vase and a glass-beaded place mat

traditional Japanese characters, also made of glass

Very interesting trip, Artemis. Thank you for sharing. And i enjoyed the Boracay post too. Visited the place back in grade school.
